“The pill contains the same hormones that our natural bodies generate, called estrogen and progestin,” says Ashton. “It can override your body’s signals to release an egg (or ovulate). Consequently, it also lowers your body’s testosterone level, which in turn can reduce acne.”
Medical analysts say that taking the pill once a month is strong enough the clear up any acne you may be facing. If your acne is severe, you may consider taking the pill once every two weeks. Be sure to consult with your doctor before making any decisions. They can help you determine the best course of action, including how frequently you should take the pill and your correct dosage.
Organic Milk + Olive Oil Mixture
Life beauty tip: it is so fundamental that you remember to take your makeup off at night. Believe it or not, milk and olive oil, when used together, are great alternatives to chemical-filled or oil-based makeup removers if you find certain formulas negatively impact your acne.
Start by using a glass of milk (any type) with a cotton ball or tissue to take off every inch of makeup for cleansing. While you’re using milk to remove your eye makeup, try to use your ring finger as a gentle skin texture around your eyes. When you have finished with the cleansing process, take olive oil and use as a moisturizer. A little goes a long way, so be careful not to overload.
By adding the olive oil to your skin, you are allowing the antioxidants and anti-aging agents to settle on your face. Milk has been known to be a natural agent that is healthy for both the skin and hair. Just like a well-balanced moisturizer, milk not only has water, but fats that provide natural moisturizing effects. The protein content, vitamin and minerals contribute to the anti-aging properties of milk.
Egg Whites and Tissue Paper
Egg whites make a great natural face mask. Taking 1-2 eggs, separate the yolks and place the whites into a bowl. Using your hands, spread the egg white onto your face, avoiding your eyes and lips. Keep your face dry prior to application. Place strips of tissue paper onto your face, turning it into a mask. Allow the mask to completely dry onto your face for about 15 minute or so. Remove the tissue paper and rinse the egg white off gently and with warm water. Moisturize using olive oil.
Oatmeal and Banana
While most of us use oatmeal simply as a quick breakfast before our 8 a.m., it can also be used as a face mask. Mixing oatmeal and honey or eggs can serve as an effective way to get rid of random outbreaks.
Now, many of you might be reading this thinking, “Why would I rub edible food all over my face?” While that’s a reasonable and natural thought, the answer is because it works. The oats do wonders for your complexion because contains amino acids, which work to repair damaged skin. (Bonus: it can also be mixed with milk to alleviate redness of the skin.) The banana will add to serve as a natural skin highlighter and leave you with a healthy glow.
Aspirin or Baking Soda With Ice
Have a troublesome pimple that randomly popped up overnight? Use one of our favorite remedies for spot treatment. Crush an Aspirin pill and mix the powder in a few tablespoons of water. Stir to form a paste. Apply the paste to the spot and let it sit for no more than five minutes. The reason this works is because the Aspirin and baking soda contain the same acid that many acne treatments use to exfoliate dry skin. A gentle scrub can remove bumps and rough patches, even skin tone and prevent buildup from clogging pores, which is the leading cause to breakouts.
Even though there is no quick fix when it comes to skin blemishes, these quick treatments can be added to your weekly skin regime to help improve your natural complexion and leave you feeling confident with the bare you. Let us know in the comments below how these weird methods worked for you!
